Car soundproofing, like repairs, starts with the roof. We removed the roof lining. The factory soundproofing had practically removed itself. We removed its remains, cleaned and degreased the entire surface. The first layer was carefully rolled with special rollers of vibration-absorbing material StP Diamond. The stiffening ribs were left uncovered.
The second layer was glued with the relief sound absorber StP Biplast . It is firmly held with the help of a special reinforced adhesive layer. Effectively absorbs external and internal noise. Prevents the effect of a "crying roof". The standard trim was installed in place. The roof soundproofing is done.
Before installation, the entire surface was cleaned and degreased.
The first layer was StP Diamond vibration damper. The material is effective, intended for specialists, it does not have a characteristic embossing that helps beginners control the quality of rolling.
It was easy to work - there were practically no elements with complex relief.
The surface is single-level. There are no protrusions under the second-row seats. Both the interior floor and the trunk are areas of increased attention in this case. Therefore, the second layer was applied with a Bromo sandwich, which is distinguished by increased moisture resistance.
Bromo was used only on the tunnel and in the internal treatment of the arches. After applying the soundproofing materials, the factory floor covering was installed in place.
The factory material was removed from the luggage compartment: completely from the wings, partially from the arches. The surface was cleaned and degreased.
The first layer used was vibration damper: on the arches - StP Gold, on the wings - StP Diamond.
The wings were glued with a wavy sound absorber StP Biplast. The arches were covered with a highly effective soundproofing multilayer sandwich Bromo. It combines the functions of sound absorption and sound insulation. Factory protective lining was installed.
Using special StP tools, the clips were removed and the door panels were disconnected. The doors were "clean" and "ringing". No need to remove factory materials.
The surface was cleaned and degreased. StP Diamond vibration damper was rolled in. No material was applied to the stiffening elements and drainage holes.
The second layer is a highly effective Sonora sandwich. It performs two functions at once - absorbs and insulates sound. The material should completely cover the Diamond vibration damper. Sonora is held in place by a powerful adhesive polymer layer, and no rolling is required.
To increase the door protection against corrosion, and the sound absorber on the door panel against moisture and steam, the technological openings were covered with Diamond material. It has sufficient rigidity to hold its shape in large open areas. All wires, window lift elements and other similar objects were left free of noise and vibration materials. So that nothing would interfere with their performance.
The factory noise-absorbing material, which was of no value, was removed from the door panel. Biplast was installed. Anti-squeak treatment was performed along the edges of the door - Biplast 5 K tape, 2-3 cm wide, was glued along the contour.
