Roof Sound Proofing
The factory roof has very limited acoustic treatment and its large metal surface can resonate easily.
We removed the headliner and treated the roof with STP Aerocell vibration damping. It reduces roof panel resonance and vibration. It helps create a quieter, more solid-feeling cabin.
Roof soundproofing also helps reduce outside noise entering through the large metal panel. Added thermal insulation improves cabin comfort in the Australian heat.
STP NoiseBlock adds a heavy acoustic barrier over the treated floor and wheel arches. This helps reduce low-frequency road and tyre noise entering the cabin.
Multi-layer door soundproofing reduces vibration, resonance and outside road noise. STP Intrigo also creates a more stable acoustic environment for the speakers.

Wheel Arches External
External wheel arches were treated with STP Bromo to target tyre and road noise closer to the source. This treatment also reduces stone impact noise and wheel-arch resonance.

The doors of the Land Cruiser 79 were treated with a two-layer system — STP Diamond as the base vibration-damping layer and STP Sonora as the acoustic absorber.
This combination reduces metal resonance, door panel rattles, and external noise from passing traffic and tyre noise.
As a result, the doors now close with a solid, premium feel, and the cabin is noticeably quieter even at higher speeds.

The floor and internal wheel arches are major paths for road and tyre noise. STP Intrigo controls metal vibration before the additional noise barrier is installed.
