Photo Report of Completed Work
In this article, we analyse the factory soundproofing of the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 Prado and present a photo report of the additional soundproofing work using STP materials. First, we dismantled all interior elements to evaluate the standard insulation. It is completely absent from the ceiling and doors. Vibration insulator fragments are applied to the floor and luggage compartment using a fusion method, covering about 20% of the area.
Roof Sound Proofing
The roof is one of the main parts of the body, occupying a large area through which noise from airflow and external equipment penetrates. For the roof, we use lightweight, highly effective 2.3 mm STP material, which eliminates most noise. The second layer is Biplast Premium, a porous sound absorber that reduces medium and high frequencies.
Roof Sound Proofing

Advantages of car ceiling soundproofing

  • Reduction of aerodynamic noise
  • Muffling of noise from rain and other weather conditions
  • Improvement of thermal insulation properties
Floor Sound Proofing

Advantages of car floor soundproofing

  • Reduction of aerodynamic noise
  • Reduction of vibration load on the car body
  • Muffling of noise from snow, gravel, sand and other road conditions
  • Improvement of thermal insulation properties

Boot Sound Proof

Procedure for soundproofing the trunk of a car

  • Dismantling the trunk trim
  • Removing the factory vibration insulator and glue
  • Degreasing the surface
  • Application of materials with careful rolling

Boot Sound Proof

We recently applied STP Gold and Bromo materials. On top, we roll the combined Bromo sandwich, which combines sound absorption and sound insulation. It is also necessary to insulate the rear fenders, because sound waves can overlap and amplify inside the cavities, reflecting off the walls. STP Bromo and Biplast Premium will solve these noise issues.

Doors Sound Proof

Procedure for soundproofing car doors

  • Remove the inner door trim
  • Remove the factory vibration isolator
  • Clean and degrease all internal surfaces
  • Apply materials in 3 layers
  • Roll them carefully with a roller
  • Assemble everything in reverse order

Boot Lid Sound Proof

We installed the StP Biplast sound absorber on the plastic lining. We degreased the plastic beforehand, then glued the sheet material onto it, avoiding strong tension.
