• Identified Issues
    • Road noise from wheel arches
    • Engine noise
    • High levels of vibration and interior/exterior noise
    • Door rattles
  • Work Performed
    • Comprehensive soundproofing
    • External treatment of wheel arches
    • Soundproofing of the front panel
  • Results
    • Up to 10 dB noise reduction in the doors and floor, resulting in a significantly quieter cabin.
Photo Report of Completed Work
Roof Sound Proofing
The roof of the Subaru Forester is a large, relatively thin panel that allows wind and rain noise to easily transfer into the cabin, especially at higher speeds.
To address this, we applied a lightweight yet highly effective STP Gold 2.3mm vibration-damping material, designed to reduce metal resonance and stabilise the roof panel, resulting in a quieter and more refined driving experience.
For sound and heat insulation, we also installed STP Accent 10mm.
Floor Sound Proofing
The floor was treated with STP Gold 2.3mm, a high-efficiency vibration-damping material designed for large flat metal surfaces exposed to constant road vibration and mechanical stress.
Floor Sound Proofing
On top of the first layer, we installed STP NoiseBlock to reduce mid- and high-frequency noise.

Plastic Sound Proof

To eliminate rattles from plastic contact points, all components should be wrapped with STP Biplast 5mm / 10mm / 15mm.

Doors Sound Proof

The doors of the Subaru Forester were treated with a two-layer system — STP Gold 2.3mm as the base vibration damping layer and STP Sonora as the acoustic absorber.
This combination reduces metal resonance, door panel rattles, and external noise from passing traffic and tyre noise.

As a result, the doors now close with a solid, premium feel, and the cabin is noticeably quieter even at higher speeds.
